Firm Meeting Fun

by Sara Robertson

This past Monday we held our annual firm meeting at the Arena Grand Theatre. GBQ hosts quarterly firm meetings throughout the year, but the summer meeting is always our big one (and my favorite!). We announce promotions, give out recognition and service awards and have a little fun.

We try to spice things up each year to make the “presentation” fun and it has turned into quite a production. We have done everything from a music video and skits to GBQ Idol and Iron Man. This year was no different, the meeting was complete with a stage, lighting, video, music and of course a movie screen. Here’s a taste:

  • Recognition Awards: Associates are nominated and ultimately voted on and recognized by their fellow co-workers. Click here to read more about these awards and view a full list of the associates recognized.
  • Promotions: This is always a popular one (go figure!). This year promotions included Shaun Duffin being promoted to Director. Click here for a full list of this year’s promotions.
  • Service Awards: We also recognize associates for their years of service. This year we celebrated associates at the 5, 10, 15 and 35 year marks. Wade Kozich was the 35 year associate and we decided to have a little fun with him – check out the video we put together reenacting his first year on the job.

The following photo was taken while filming the video for Wade – Matt Stamp is dressed as Jack Boyle, Tom Powers is Ron Quillin and Brian Bornino is Morris Groner (our founders!). The three of them also made a live appearance at the meeting.

Visit our Facebook page for additional photos and videos from the meeting. We had a little fun with the transitions for each section of the meeting using “Man on the Street” interviews.
