February 15th, 2011 by Rebekah Smith

The memberships of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) and the Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA) overwhelmingly voted to ratify a joint set of principals developed jointly by a team of representatives from each organization.  Over the past several years, the business valuation organizations have tried but have failed to unify all the standards which makes this an important first step for the business valuation community towards an eventual profession-wide business valuation standard.  The standards will go into effect for engagements accepted on or after June 1, 2011
