GBQ, a Top 100 tax, accounting and consulting firm, is pleased to announce that Mike Purcell, CPA, Director, Assurance & Business Advisory Services, has been named a partner within the firm.
Mike joined GBQ in 2012 and provides assurance and advisory services to SEC registrants and privately held companies, primarily in the M&D, construction and service industries. In addition to financial reporting and financial statement assurance services, Mike specializes in and assists clients with internal control evaluation (including evaluation with the COSO framework), Sarbanes Oxley compliance and OMB Uniform Guidance compliance. He has served as a member of the firm’s internal quality control team, accounting and auditing update evaluation and implementation group, and the assurance efficiency and effectiveness committees. Mike also facilitates GBQ’s internal and external technical training seminars as a team leader. Outside of GBQ, Mike serves as the Treasurer for Homeport, which gives greater security, opportunity, and dignity to thousands of low-income people in central Ohio by building quality, affordable homes primarily financed with private investment leveraged by federal tax credits.
