The North Carolina legislature passed House Bill 998, The Tax Simplification and Reduction Act of 2013 (H.B. 998 or the “Act”), which Governor Pat McCrory signed into law on July 24, 2013. The Act generally reduces income taxes for both corporations and individuals and expands the scope of the sales and use tax to include certain services.
