Following graduation, Tawny joined GBQ in 2017 to provide tax compliance and planning services to clients within several industries, including restaurant, technology and manufacturing. As a tax manager, Tawny focuses primarily on empowering growth of C corporations with international filing requirements in addition to S corporations within the restaurant industry.
Before entering public accounting, Tawny gained experience providing financial and clerical support to various organizations, including her alma mater. She also interned with the IRS, serving as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Supervisor, overseeing local individuals preparing free tax returns.
Tawny is heavily involved in GBQ’s talent recruitment efforts and serves on the internal tax committee responsible for monitoring, releasing and educating tax law changes throughout the firm’s tax department. An advocate for the public accounting industry, Tawny is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, where she has served on its Young Professionals board since 2019.
