Intuit, the company behind QuickBooks, signaled a shift away from supporting its lower-end Desktop versions, specifically Pro and Premier. Intuit also announced plans to stop selling new subscriptions to U.S. subscribers for several versions of QuickBooks Desktop. As experienced QuickBooks users, we comprehend the impact on you as a consumer and want to alert you about these rapidly approaching deadlines. Two important dates for you to be aware of are May 31st and July 31st, 2024.

Desktop versions 2022, 2023, and 2024 will still be available for current users, but Intuit support will end on May 31st of the third year from the version year. Therefore, we highly recommend considering how this transition will impact your product usage.

For those using QuickBooks Desktop 2021 or prior (*all subscription levels), you should take action before May 31, 2024. After that date, consumers cannot access live technical support or receive the latest critical security patches and updates.

If you are using QuickBooks Desktop 2022 or later and are not currently on the “Plus” level subscription, you must act before July 31, 2024, if you intend to continue using QuickBooks Desktop. After July 31, 2024, QuickBooks Desktop will no longer be available for purchase for new users, and your only option will be QuickBooks Online.

If you are using any of these versions, you might want to consider upgrading to a newer version or switching to QuickBooks Online for greater flexibility and collaboration.

Transitioning to a new software platform can be daunting, but we are here to help you navigate these changes with the support and resources you need to achieve your financial goals. If you have any questions or concerns about this transition, please contact Kristine Walker or Megan Crots.
