GBQ, a top 100 tax, accounting, and consulting firm, is pleased to announce that Kari A. Maue, CPA, Director, Assurance & Advisory, has been named a Partner within the firm.
Kari joined GBQ in 2023, bringing with her nearly two decades of public accounting experience and a distinguished track record of leading audit and assurance engagements for middle-market and nationally recognized brands. Prior to joining GBQ, she served as Assurance Director within BDO USA’s national restaurant practice leadership team. In that role, she advised clients ranging from emerging concepts to large, multi-unit operators on complex accounting matters, operational challenges, and industry-specific financial reporting requirements.
Kari’s assurance expertise spans a broad range of technical and regulatory areas. She has extensive experience managing audits, reviews, and compilations; designing and evaluating internal control frameworks; and guiding clients through new accounting standards and evolving compliance requirements. Her work includes significant experience supporting companies through growth events, such as equity raises, acquisitions, system conversions, and readiness for external investment.

Kari earned her bachelor’s in business administration (B.B.A., Accounting) from Ohio University. She is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. She also regularly dedicates time and resources to charitable efforts that make a positive impact on the lives of Cincinnati community members.
