GBQ is pleased to announce Michael Dickson, CPA, CITP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, Director of Information Technology Services, and Steve Boston, CPA, Senior Manager, Assurance & Information Technology Services, have earned the System and Organization Controls (SOC) for Cybersecurity Certificate.
Cybersecurity threats are on the rise, challenging organizations of all sizes and encouraging them to implement a cybersecurity risk management program to prevent, detect and respond to security breaches. The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) has introduced a cybersecurity risk management reporting framework, a solution that builds upon the accounting profession’s experience in auditing system and organization controls. The SOC for Cybersecurity Certificate is designed for CPAs to learn to apply the AICPA’s cybersecurity risk management reporting framework, analyze and examine an organization’s cybersecurity risk management program and report on the entity’s cybersecurity risk management program.
Michael joined GBQ in 2010, and has over 25 years of auditing and information security experience including working with middle market, family-owned and public companies. Additionally, he has designed and executed IT internal audit and regulatory compliance programs for local, regional and global companies.
Steve began his public accounting career with GBQ in 2007, and provides financial and technology assurance and consulting services across many industries, including software and technology, retail, restaurants, financial institutions and manufacturing. He also performs system and organization control (SOC) examinations, audits of employee benefit plans and assists with transaction advisory projects.
