GBQ is pleased to announce that Betty McCartney, EA, NSSA, has been promoted to Tax Director. Betty is based in our Toledo office.
Betty joined GBQ in 2020 following the firm’s merger with Weber Clark, Ltd., where she worked in the tax department for over 20 years. Having begun her career with PWC, Betty has extensive experience in taxation and related engagements, specializing in federal, state and individual tax matters. In 2000, Betty earned her Enrolled Agent license, the highest credential awarded by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Enrolled agents are federally licensed tax practitioners with unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
Toledo Managing Director Bret Clark shared, “We are pleased to recognize Betty for her commitment to the firm and our clients. Her excellent and consistent client service has helped propel our firm forward. Betty is well-deserving of this promotion, and we look for her to continue empowering our tax team’s growth in the Toledo office.”
Betty is involved in several organizations, including the National Association of Enrolled Agents, the Ohio Society of Enrolled Agents, and The Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. Previously, Betty served as Treasurer of the Michigan High School Rodeo Association and the Whiteford Athletic Boosters.
