GBQ is pleased to announce that Kenneth McNeil has joined the firm as a Security Analyst in our Information Technology services group. He is based out of GBQ’s Columbus office.

Ken has over 20 years of experience in information system infrastructure implementation, information security and compliance and end user support. Prior to joining GBQ, he worked at Ohio Tuition Trust Authority (OTTA) as a network supervisor where he helped develop a secure file sharing system that utilized secure FTP and PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), providing OTTA the ability to securely move investment files to trading partners. His experience also includes serving as the IT Manager for the Office of the Ohio Public Defender (OPD) where he utilized virtualization to update legacy systems and make the ODP’s office ISO 27002 compliant. Additionally, Ken oversaw the OPD Online project, a case management, document management application that will be used by Public Defenders statewide.

At GBQ, Ken is responsible for performing security assessments, penetration testing and security architecture reviews, as well as evaluating security technologies on behalf of clients. He applies his hands-on experience in support, management and budgeting roles to help clients identify and implement reasonable and appropriate security controls to meet their security and compliance obligations.
