GBQ is pleased to announce Darci Congrove, CPA, Managing Director, has been selected as a 2019 YWCA Woman of Achievement.
Since 1986, the YWCA Academy of Women of Achievement has recognized 268 women with various backgrounds and experiences, all sharing a deep commitment to breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for women. Those inducted to this prestigious group have shown a great history of not only bringing people to the table, but being active, supportive listeners-working hard to create positive change in Columbus and the world.
A female leader in a male-dominated industry, Darci’s work ethic and drive have enabled her to break through the glass ceiling, becoming the first female managing director in GBQ’s 66-year firm history. A strong advocate for female empowerment, she played a key role in founding the Firm’s women’s initiative, wGBQ, which aims to enhance the recruitment, retention and advancement of women. Now, she works with other businesses to help them implement women’s initiatives of their own.
Serving as a leader in the workplace and her community, Darci makes it her mission to say yes to those in need. In addition to frequently discussing female leadership, operating a purpose-driven company and living a balanced life, she strives to address workforce gaps and education barriers as Chair of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Workforce Development Committee. Additionally, she serves on boards and committees of several local nonprofits, including The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio and United Way of Central Ohio.
